Hogle Zoo 2007

Mo spent the weekend in St. George on a long deserved girls trip, so the boys and I spent one day at the zoo while she was away. Hogle Zoo has made many improvements over the past couple of years. The “Asian Highlands” tiger habitat being the most recent, and the elephant and rhinoceros homes rebuilt just before that. They are great San Diego Zoo type habitats. Hogle Zoo also does a great bird show with eagles, hawks, owls, parrots, and ravens swooping, diving, talking, and “stealing” the show. It is fantastic, the best part of the day.

Mo’s Birthday 2007

As a surprise for Mo’s 30th birthday I repainted the wainscot of our master bedroom with the Ralph Lauren river rock paint, and purchased the quilt and bedding Mo had her eye on at the Village Quilt Shop (Thanks Peggy). Check out the picture below. You can “click” on the picture to view a larger image. The bed in the picture is the bed I built for Mo for her 26th birthday. Love you Babe, I’m looking forward to the next 30!

Echo Triathlon 2007

Monique and I have competed in a couple triathlons since the summer started. The first was the Utah Summer Games (USG) on June 16th. The USG is part of the Trifecta series in St. George, so we are familiar with the course. We had a great time, and both improved our times over the Kokopelli triathlon held on the same course last fall. It’s a bugger of a bike ride. Last Saturday (July 14) was the Xango Echo triathlon at Echo reservoir. It is an excellent event, well organized and very popular. There were almost 1000 athletes participating this year! It is a great course, and Mo and I both improved our personal best times. Next up for Mo is a tri held at one of our local rec centers, and I am competing in the highest elevation tri in the U.S.A. at Scofield reservoir on August 11. Then both of us are competing again in the Kokopelli in September.
